What is the difference between loving someone and needing someone

You are attracted to them for the things you seek in others or maybe in yourself, but once the curtain of glory is lifted, the infatuation soon disappears. You can be fascinated by a person and get attracted to them. But, can it be called love? This desire or longing for a person can fall apart because our wants are never constant and never long-lasting.

And, they can change anytime whenever that higher emotions of interest, amusement, and fascination boil down. Attachment represents a need. The need to receive care, approval, or contact from the person you love are all forms of attachment whereas wanting someone represents the passionate love that is merely an intense, emotional, anxiety-laden attraction. But true love is rare. But loving someone means accepting someone in every way possible. Love is marked by trust, affection, intimacy, and commitment.

In a relationship based on need, you lose your independence and agency as a human being. You forget how to even be alone with your thoughts or what life was like before you met them.

You become governed by the fear of having to be without them. These words can make or break a relationship. Love should be out of choice, not out of need. You choose to be with someone because they are the best possible fit for your life.

You choose to leave them when you realize you chose wrong. Wanting someone means you have already created a life for yourself in which you are happy and wish for someone to add on to it.
